3D scanner for orthopedics

The 3D optical digitalization offers the orthopedic sector the opportunity of translating into digital form many of the traditional steps still performed with a high manual component.

When realizing a prosthesis or a corrective corset the shape of the patient is still achieved using plaster. The patient has to stay still till the plaster hardens. This painful practice can be successfully substituted by the 3D digitalization that takes less then a minute to register the whole area of interest.

Acquisition of a back for corrective bust Completion of the geometry for the corrective bust Improved alignment of orthopedic bust
Transition from point clouds to STL Smoothing of orthopedic bust Model of orthopedic bust for milling

Our procedure includes the acquisition of the different portions, their allignment with automatic procedures and the generation of a mesh model.

The last step creates a model fit for the tool path generation and finally to the milling.
