3D digitalization applied to the design and codesign

Open Technologies s.r.l. successfully uses their technology for the design and codesign and the creation of the CAD model of various products the design of which presents surfaces difficult to realize with just the CAD engineering. In order to reach and get the project and the industrialization of the product we start with the physical model which reproduces its shape: to this day, it is still easier to bring the necessary modifications and devices on the physical prototype to improve the product thus receiving a positive market response. To realize the CAD project which allows the creation of moulds for mass production a 3D optical scan is performed which produces a digital model true in dimensions and characteristics to the starting object.

Our 3D scanners Optical RevEng can be used for different purposes:

  • 3D scan of the object for a following CAD moulding in case of changes to be made;
  • 3D scan of existing objects with the purpose of creating a new design or improving the existing one;
  • creation of the 3D model based on the hand made one.
