3D dental scanner Optical RevEng DENTAL
The CAD/CAM
digitalization and processing solutions always propose new challenges and opportunities
to prosthetic labs that want to maximize their work with techniques which can put
an end to the wax knife and hand tools. The advantages of digital are:
- less non-conceptual work;
- less hand finishing necessary;
- greater productivity and speed due to the parallelization of the scanning, moulding and production processes;
- fewer human errors;
- better quality and accuracy;
- mould scans of patients can be memorized and reproduced and the technologies applied can be used again on new projects in order to ensure maximum reproducibility of results and techniques.
Moreover, the 3D scanning system CAD
and CAM are totally open,
they free the surgery from various inconveniences:
- one sole supplier;
- different expedients to tie the customer to the supplier:bar code for the materials, charges for scans,encrypted files etc.;
- centralized processing services;
- inflexibility of hardware and software ownership solutions;
- very high costs for materials and preparation.
The open technology allows, as a matter of fact, the use of standard machines (PC, scanner and milling machine), no ties for supply and production of the materials, exchange of data and cooperation amongst labs and the milling of innovative materials such as the chromium-cobalt, titanium-zirconium alloys.
To satisfy these new requirements, the Optical RevEng 3D scanning tool line
avails itself with a new 3D scanner specific for the dental sector
which uses the tested white light technique.
With Optical RevEng DENTAL the whole scanning process is totally
automatic; it takes only 6 minutes to digitize the whole arch, but if you go down
to 4 elements, it only takes about half a minute. Thanks to a rotating table that
turns automatically it is possible to choose different resolution steps. The system
accuracy is equal to 10 µm. Connection is with normal USB
2.0 and VGA cables.
The management software is concise and very rational and the whole 3D scanning
phase is assisted by a progressive flow based on intuitive graphic icons easy to
assimilate. This 3D scanning system is totally open so it is possible
to generate an STL file
ready to be processed in a 3D moulding program or sent straight to a milling center.
Matching the 3D scanner with the suitable open dental CAD
will enable the importing of the STL
model, the parametric engineering of simple or anatomic cups and bridges in a totally
automatic way with the possibility of interactively and automatically calculate
the closure lines (preparation borders or curves) and the tooth contact points
with the adjacent teeth or with the antagonistic one. Moreover, dental CAD's
can also have totally editable details recallable from libraries in order to cut
down the number of repetitive moulding operations.
An open CAM can give the surgery the possibility to generate a processing program
by selecting the best strategy in terms of path tool; optimization of parts and
material distribution, no limit to the number of units, below square works and
pillar or support work.
The dental CAD and CAM
just like the 3D scanning management software utilize simple and
intuitive interfaces.
For those surgeries or centers that want to be equipped with the missing link to the complete production cycle, various milling machines are available on the market from 3 to 5 axles for the dental sector with the possibility of working chromium-cobalt, titanium-zirconium alloys.
